Northern Ireland's best pub is Curran's at Chapeltown, near Ardglass. That was the verdictof the judges at the Federation of the Retail Licensed Trade Pub Personalities of the Year Awards. They said Curran's run by the Mahon Family "epitomised the very best in pub management, presentation and customer focus."

Nichola Carruthers chief executuve of FRLT said "These awards clearly demonstrate that the Northern Ireland pub trade is at the top of its game."

The awards were sponsored by Diageo and trade magazine LCN.
